Ana graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and holds a Master of Science degree in environmental science from IU’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Ana Burns has 10 years of experience in the natural resources and environmental planning fields. She has completed a variety of ecological surveys and environmental planning studies and specializes in the management of ecological and wetlands permitting projects, mitigation bank planning and monitoring projects, and natural resource restoration projects. She is knowledgeable of state and federal stream and wetlands regulations, all aspects of Section 401 and 404 permitting, isolated wetlands regulations, and the federal mitigation rule for compensatory mitigation and its application to mitigation banking. Ana has provided assistance with grant writing and managing grant-funded projects, coordinated and facilitated public meetings and hearings, and has assisted in the development of various planning documents, including greenways planning, watershed planning, and urban forestry management plans.
