Turtle Tuesday with Tinker’s Creek!
August 20, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pmFree
Have you ever wondered what types of turtles are native to Ohio? Did you know that some live right in your backyard?
Some have spots, some have red eyes, some live in water, and some live on land! Few of them can be pets but not at all of them. So if you want to learn more then come join us for some “Turtle Talk” on August 20, 2019 from 4 – 6 pm at the Watershed Stewardship Center. We will have presentations by amazing organizations working to study and help protect these species throughout Ohio. If you want to learn more about how you can help protect our slow and steady friends, turtles, then come join us!
Presenter Matt Cross, Conservation Biologist with the Toledo Zoo, will be speaking more about his work with Box turtles and Blanding’s turtles. Presenter Stephanie White, Curator with the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, will be speaking more about her work with Spotted Turtles and the Aquarium’s mission to restore their population. Presenter Paul Pira, Wildlife Biologist with Geauga Park District, will be speaking more about his work with not only Spotted turtles but other turtles of Ohio!
Kids crafts and activities will be available, and also a chance to meet one of our turtle friends face to face!
