Erik is a practicing attorney with Squire Patton Boggs, where he is a Partner in the firm’s Environmental, Safety and Health practice group and works out of their Cleveland office. Previously, he was a patent attorney with a law firm in Michigan and an environmental engineer with a firm in Toledo. Erik is a licensed attorney in Michigan and Ohio and a registered professional engineer in Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University, a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Toledo, and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University.
Erik lives with his wife, Erin, and two children, Eli and Emmy, in Bainbridge Township’s Lake Lucerne community. He enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams, exploring local parks with his wife, biking, swimming, and following the Cleveland sports scene. He grew up in Bainbridge, where he and his wife are alumni of the same Kenston school system where they now send their children.
Erik’s passion for clean waterways goes back to his childhood when he served a lifeguard in a lake community and spent his free time swimming, camping, and honing his outdoor skills on his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout in Bainbridge’s Troop 102. Erik’s time as an engineer was spent consulting for municipalities on wastewater and water infrastructure projects.
