[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Tinker’s Creek Watershed Partners has been awarded funding from the Burning River Foundation Fresh Ideas for Freshwater grant to implement a demonstration project on grounds care methods that help protect our water resources.  The project is taking place at the Hudson Montessori in conjunction with the middle school science class. The students will be involved in all possible steps.

The project includes:

  • Removal of invasive plants and planting of native plants in and around the school’s detention basin (assistance by Davey Resource Group)
  • Creating a leaf litter composting program
  • Installation of rain barrels
  • Water wise grounds maintenance
  • Monitoring of habitat quality and water quality of basin
  • Educational outreach to the children of the Montessori
  • Educational signage and literature
